sunset summer lovin’: calgary child photographer

This summer has been so terribly wonderfully busy!  This blog has been neglected as the summer holidays have taken over. One more little road trip and sadly this summer will be filed into the memories box.  School supplies will be purchased.  School will begin.  Chaos will ensue. And, every little thing will settle into a routine, a pattern of some sort.  More memories will be created.  There will be a collection of ups and downs as we bring 2010 to a close.  Where did 2010 go by the way?

I had an opportunity (okay, about three minutes to be exact) to snap a few shots of my sweet little man in the fields down the road  from our home.    My son is three years old, so he had other plans during our three minutes (yes, a mere 180 seconds).  He wanted nothing to do with the camera.  Nope, he was too busy picking up bugs and chasing dragonflies.  I didn’t mind. The sunshine was deliciously perfect and I had the honor of watching him revel in it.  Just the two of us. Together. I just happily snapped a few shots (half caring about my settings as I just relished in the sweet alone time with my boy) and this is what went through my head with each click:

He is growing up too fast.  Way too fast.
He makes my heart smile.  A lot
I want to freeze time.  I am serious.
I love him.
He starts school in a few weeks.  My baby starts school.
I am a proud mama. Period.

Here are a few shots (perfect only to me) of our 180 seconds in the dreamy delicious field with amazing light.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by. : )

Party of Five. Calgary Family and Children Photographer

Another sweet Calgary Family session on the blog today.  Yes, this weekend I had the pleasure of photographing this fun family of five.  They were so sweet and in wonderful spirits considering they had just travelled over 3 hours from Medicine Hat for their session here in Calgary!   We had some fiercely hot weather this weekend, but that didn’t bother this family.  Nope,  they were as cool as cucumbers in front of the camera.

Here is a little sneak peek of their session, enjoy! :)

Hawt Mama! Calgary Maternity and Newborn Photographer

I feel so lucky when I shoot a maternity session with a mama that is up for ANYTHING.  This is my third shoot with this hawt mama, so she is used to my crazy ideas and trusts me completely with each session- lucky me.  :) I did her first round of maternity shots and her newborn with her sweet little man who is about to become a BIG brother!.  He already shakes a rattle at mom’s belly to show his sibling  some love. I am *SO* excited to meet her new little one in September. Here are few quick edits of this weekend’s maternity shoot.

Hawt mama, right?

{Love: Veronica + Andrew are engaged!} Calgary Photographer

I seem to recall a message from Veronica (about ten minutes after she was engaged to Andrew) that it was time for an engagement session!  Yes, the ring was on her finger!  Okay, well,  maybe not ten minutes, but close enough. :) These two are getting married in Veronica’s homeland, Montreal next summer.  They are an awesome couple and have both recently graduated from University with their Teaching degrees.  I know they will both make excellent teachers and look forward to them educating future generations of students.

We headed down to Inglewood last weekend before the busy crowds hit the streets for their session.  It was insanely hot, even in the early morning hours, but we all managed.  Here is a little sneak of their engagement session.

HELLO, gorgeous sunlight!
