Urban Punk Teen Boston Session: Calgary Family Photographer

Hello there!

I am back from an awesome week of shooting in Boston!  This is my second year shooting clients in Boston and this trip certainly didn’t disappoint (a glimpse of last year here).  This year I shot right in Boston at the historic Park Street Subway Station/Boston Common area and up in the North Shore.  All of the locations this year were so wonderful in their own unique ways.

First up is my shoot with a teen punk hipster, Tenley.  Working with teenagers is such a treat!  Tenley was going for a very urban/punk session with high contrast textured black & white pictures.  With that in mind,  I was certain that when  her mom suggested the Park Street Subway Station we had the perfect location.   This session was such a creative departure from my usual work.  The result was a fun & edgy shoot.

Isn’t Tenley a natural?  I sure think so!   She totally rocked it out in 80F+ heat as we jaunted all around the subway and Boston Common area.  Well worth it.  We had so many amazing textures in every direction we walked.  :)  Thanks to Tenley and her mother for an awesome afternoon!

Enjoy & thanks for stopping by!  More Boston sessions coming this week! :)

Yes, I was somehow steadily holding my camera while riding the escalator up.  Amazing that I didn’t fall down, I mean for the sake of my camera and all. :)

Tenley’s Mom - Oh, DOM! The photos are awesome in every way possible. The third one is my absolute favorite, we may have to have that one framed.

Love you to bits!
Mel

Carmen - Gorgeous Dom! Tenley you are a superstar!

Catching up on some more newborn sessions here. :)

Meet sweet little baby girl Miyah.  She is the youngest of three gorgeous little girls in her growing family  She was a total sweetie, but had absolutely no desire to sleep during our entire session. :)  Isn’t her hair amazing?  All of my recent newborns have had gorgeous heads of thick/dark hair.  My daughter was practically bald until she was three years old, so it is always shocking to me when I see newborn babies with lovely locks of hair. :)

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by! :)

nicole - awwwwe, she is so little! Great pictures as always:)

Sandy Keys - Beautiful pictures, Domenica! She is just precious. Love that first headband – very unique!

Kristen - be still my heart.

Hello!  Spring has sprung here in Calgary.   So, while I’m busy catching up on client galleries and anxious to get out in the beautiful sunshine (in my flip flops, of course), there isn’t  a lot of blogging happening here (then again, who am I kidding?  I’m not a stellar blogger at the best of times, either)! :)

Meet baby boy Asher.  He was was the rock star of newborn sleepiness for his newborn photography session at the beginning of April.

Check out that ridiculously awesome hair, too.  Love him.  Isn’t he the sweetest little newborn man?

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Joel Y - Nice images, D! My fave is the third one from the top – love the slight grain in the image and also the composition.

Kristen - eeeeeeeep!

domo arigato, mr. roboto birthday party: calgary child photographer

My little man turned four at the end of January. Crazy, I know.
I still remember that epic moment in the delivery room when the nurse announced: “It’s a BOY!”

If you know me, you know I am all about dreaming-up crazy/fun (with a little stress thrown in for good measure) birthday parties for my kids.  Maybe it is the guilty working-mom complex, or maybe it is me somewhat selfishly re-living my childhood, either way, I consider my kid’s parties a win/win situation.  My husband says I am destined for the show Party Mamas (for the record, I have yet to rent out a twenty thousand dollar venue, nor do I plan to- I have limits people!).  I think I can safely say our parties normal-ish. :)

My son’s theme this year was robots + rockets.  Super fun theme and super fun color scheme (blues/reds). Love.
Here are a few pics from the BIG day.
